 Captain Gabby Charters

The Capt Gabby is a wooden trawler that was hand- built in St. Augustine, FL in 1977. Over the years she made her way up the Coast and landed in Valona, Georgia. She has had many adventures and is eager for more.

Gabby is 42ft long and now has a whole new outlook on life. Capt Gabby has been lovingly converted into a mothership that can sleep 6 participants and up to 3 crew.  There is a well-equipped galley, as well as a toilet  (head) and two hot showers! A large fishing platform on the back makes for easy access to the water and into kayaks. There is even a library on board.

It doesn't get much better than this.

What's in a name?

Picture
The late, great, Captain Gabby himself

Our boat was named after Herbert Walker, A.K.A. Captain Gabby. He passed away about 10 years ago. We bought the boat with the name already intact and did not have any interest in changing it after learning what a beloved character Gabby was.  He was born on Sapelo Island and worked on many a shrimp boat over the years. Heck, folks loved him so much they named a boat after him!
